You're planning a wedding? Congratulations!

Northwest UMC welcomes couples, families and friends for joyful, reverent and memorable wedding services and gatherings. To arrange a date, choose setting and arrangements, or find answers for questions that aren't listed here, call the church office at 614-451-2825 or fill out the form at the bottom of this page. Here are some of the questions we answer earliest and most often:

You don’t need to be members of Northwest UMC, of The United Methodist Church, or of any other denomination or religious body. You are welcome here. We will invite you to become part of the church, of course.

You can be married somewhere else if you wish. Pastor Chris or Pastor Mebane are available to perform weddings off site.

Northwest UMC has two wedding venues of different sizes and settings. The church’s sanctuary, a round room of brick and oak, accommodates up to 300 people in a contemporary setting, and is available year-round. From mid-May to mid-September, you may choose the Chapel in the Woods, which accommodates up to 200 people in a beautiful outdoor wooded area. We’ll be glad to give you a tour and answer questions about the advantages and limits of each place.

Pastor Chris Rinker and Pastor Mebane McMahon are both able to perform weddings. If you have a friend or relative who is licensed by the State of Ohio to perform marriages, that person is also welcome to preside. Contact the church office using the form below for more information.

Everything we provide is individually priced, so the overall arrangement is up to you. You can choose who decorates, who documents, who sings or plays, and who coordinates. We work well with florists, photographers, videographers, musicians, and wedding planners.
