Support the Mission Team

Heads on a Stick Fundraiser

This summer, our mission team will be traveling to Tucson, Arizona, on a service-learning trip with a focus on immigration justice. For $100, you can help support our team AND 'go on the trip' by sending in a high-resolution picture of yourself (or a family member or pet!), which will be turned into a 24" cardboard cutout 'head on a stick' and brought along with the team to be included in pictures. Thank you for supporting our 2026 summer mission team!

More about the trip:

Located just 60 miles from the Mexico border, Tucson provides a vital context for understanding and engaging with issues surrounding immigration. As a gateway to the borderlands, it is an ideal setting for us to deepen our knowledge and involvement in matters related to immigrants, asylum-seekers, and the broader immigration system.

On the trip, the team will be immersed in a week of education, collaboration, and hands-on service. Activities are designed to help participants understand what it means to welcome and support our immigrant neighbors. We will engage in desert walks to gain perspective on the challenges faced by those crossing the border, participate in humanitarian aid efforts, and contribute to building projects that support local communities. We will explore how the topics we’re learning about are relevant to our own community and will develop a plan for how we can continue this work when we get home. The goal of this trip is to leave the week equipped to live lives of love, service, and justice in ways that are relational, sustainable, and dignity-affirming!
