Amistad
Hispanic/Latino Ministry (Dublin/Hilliard)
Amistad is a Christian outreach ministry for the families that reside at a mobile home park at the intersection of Avery Road and Hayden Run Road, just north of the railroad tracks in that area. This ministry was started by NWUMC in the summer of 2009. The community consists of around 55 mobile homes; many of the residents there are from Mexico and there are many children who live there.
NWUMC, along with our current partners Scioto Ridge UMC (Hilliard) and Trinity UMC (Upper Arlington), generally schedule events for the residents every two months. We usually meet at an open lot at the mobile home park where we typically provide food, fun, games and fellowship. It is a great opportunity to provide fellowship in a faith-based setting at these events for our community neighbors.
We are also in the planning stages of providing transportation to and from NWUMC Sunday School during the 9:30 am services, begining in January. Your attendance and/or support for any event or in the transportation on Sunday mornings is welcome!
